The Star Prairie Utilities will conduct its Fire Hydrant Flushing beginning on May 26 and May 28, 2026. This notice is to inform our customers that hydrant flushing may cause discolored or “rusty” looking water. The discolored water is caused by naturally occurring iron minerals that are disturbed during the flushing process. If mineral particles are detected, that may affect laundry operations cold water should be run to clear out household water lines.
